Clanton cracks Top-5 in Tri-City Outlaw Showdown with World of Outlaws
Shane Clanton began a three-race swing with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Thursday afternoon at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) for the Farmer City Showdown.
Following the ninth-quickest lap in his group, Clanton pinned a spot in the feature with a third-place run in his heat race. Rolling off from the fifth-row in the $10,000-to-win feature, Shane was an earlier retiree on lap 19.
Following the series to Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) on Friday afternoon, Shane earned a spot in the main event with a runner-up finish in his heat race. For the $12,000 feature, Clanton ran inside the Top-10 and crossed the checkered flag in fifth.
Wrapping up the triple-header weekend on Saturday at Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Ky.), Clanton once again placed runner-up in his heat race to land him a third-row starting spot in the feature. With $15,000 on the line, Shane faded throughout the 50-lap feature to end up 14th.
Shane is currently 11th in the latest World of Outlaws point standings.
