With the 107-car field divided into two groups, Clanton outran Ricky Weiss in his heat race to pick up the win. Racing to a runner-up finish in his 25-lap prelim, Shane chased Hudson O’Neal to the checkers with Chris Ferguson rounding out the podium.
After getting behind the eight-ball in Friday’s time trial session, Clanton charged from 10th in his heat to score a fourth-place finish. Starting his $12,000-to-win preliminary feature in 14th, Shane jumped up three positions to place 11th.
On Saturday, Shane’s fifth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into a B-Main for another shot at the $55,000-to-win World 100. Needing to finish or better, Clanton logged a seventh-place outing.
