Eighth-place finish in Eldora Million prelim

With the 124-car field split into two groups for a pair of $12,000-to-win preliminary features, Clanton timed in seventh-fastest before placing second in his heat race. Losing one spot in the 25-lap prelim, Shane recorded an eighth-place finish.

Later Thursday night for heat races leading up to the Eldora Million, Shane missed a transfer spot by one position in his heat with a third-place finish but already had a provisional secured into the $1,002,022-to-win A-Main via preliminary points. Starting in 24th, Clanton pulled off on the second circuit after getting hit across the helmet by a piece of debris.

He was a scratch from the two-day 28th annual Dirt Late Model Dream on Friday and Saturday.
