Shane Clanton begins 2022 season at Volusia Speedway Park

Skyline Motorsports pilot Shane Clanton lifted the lid on his 2022 season on Thursday afternoon by entering the Sunshine Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.). With a stout field of 47 World of Outlaws Late Model Series entries on hand for the series opener, Clanton posted a third-place finish in his heat, which positioned him 10th on the starting grid for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. With officials forced to postpone the 30-lap feature to Friday afternoon due to rough track conditions, Shane gained four spots to register a sixth-place finish.

Later Friday night, Shane edged his way into the A-Main with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat.

After the feature was postponed to Saturday, Mother Nature postponed the 40-lapper to February 16th and cancelled Saturday night’s program.
