Clanton invades Bristol for Bristol Bash

Shane Clanton invaded Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon as the famed facility covered the half-mile oval in dirt for the two-day Bristol Bash. Drawing 29 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Shane secured his spot into the opening night feature with a third-place finish in his heat race. Starting in 10th, Clanton faded two positions in the 40-lap affair to register a 17th-place outing.

After Saturday evening’s program was postponed to Sunday afternoon, Clanton grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat race, which positioned him 14th on the starting grid for the $25,000-to-win Bristol Bash finale.
