Pair of fourth-place finishes at Port Royal

Shane Clanton headed west on Thursday afternoon to follow the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) to kick off the three-day Rumble by the River. Drawing 43 cars, Clanton clocked in sixth fastest in his group before streaking to an eight-lap victory. Running a steady pace throughout the 40-lap preliminary feature, Shane notched a fourth-place finish. For another $10,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday, Shane posted a third-place finish in his heat, which pinned him 12th on the starting grid for the show. Wheeling his way into the Top-5, Clanton advanced forward eight spots to finish fourth, which came behind Tim McCreadie, Jimmy Owens, and Tyler Erb. Hudson O’Neal rounded out the Top-5.

Saturday's $30,000-to-win finale was cancelled by persistent rain.

Shane remains in ninth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
