Fifth-place finish in Pittsburgher 100 at PPMS

Picking back up with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Shane Clanton traveled to Raceway 7 (Conneaut, Ohio) on Friday afternoon for the Great Lakes 50. After an eight-lap heat race victory secured his spot into the opening night feature, Shane stole the lead from fellow front-row starter Tim McCreadie on the fourth circuit and set the pace for the ensuing 34 laps. He suffered a flat left-rear tire on lap 42 while leading that brought a disappointing end to his evening.

The following night at Pittsburgh Pa. Motor Speedway (Imperial, Pa.) for the 32nd annual Pittsburgher 100, Clanton’s third-place finish in his heat race pinned him 12th on the starting grid for the $20,000-to-win A-Main. Wheeling his way into the Top-5, Shane passed seven cars in the 100-lapper to register a fifth-place finish.
