Clanton competes with LOLMDS over Fourth of July
Shane Clanton invaded Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio) on Friday night to kick off the Fourth of July weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). Passing three cars in his heat, Clanton posted a third place finish, which positioned him ninth on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Falling short of a Top-10 finish in the 50-lap affair, Shane slipped back to a 17th place outing.
On Saturday evening at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the Independence 50, Shane secured his spot into the $12,000-to-win A-Main with a second place finish in his heat behind Billy Moyer Jr. After wheeling his way into the Top-5 and challenging for the lead, Clanton suffered a flat right-rear tire on the eighth lap that dropped him back to a 15th place outing.
Shane is currently eighth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
