16th-place finish at Florence Speedway

On Friday night Shane Clanton was one of 33 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) for the two-day General Tire Summer Sizzler Nationals. After coming one spot shy of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish, Clanton locked his spot into the $12,000-to-win A-Main with a 12-lap consolation victory. Improving two positions in the 50-lap affair, Shane recorded a 16th place finish.

Saturday night’s program fell victim to Mother Nature.

Shane sits in eighth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
