Ninth-place finish at Port Royal Speedway

Shane Clanton followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) on Thursday evening to kick off the three-day Rumble by the River. With 55 cars on hand for the event delayed by Mother Nature as hot laps were getting underway, Clanton secured his spot into the opening night feature with a 10-lap heat race victory. Fading four spots in the 30-lap affair, Shane recorded a ninth place outing.

After persistent rain and unfavorable forecast axed Friday night’s program, Shane returned to the half-mile oval on Saturday afternoon for the $15,000-to-win finale. Following the fourth fastest lap in his time trial group, Clanton scored a runner-up finish in his heat behind Kyle Larson, which positioned him eighth on the starting grid for the main event.
