|August 29, 2020 - Shane Clanton followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) on Thursday evening to kick off the three-day Rumble by the River. With 55 cars on hand for the event delayed by Mother Nature as hot laps were getting underway, Clanton secured his spot into the opening night feature with a 10-lap heat race victory. Fading four spots in the 30-lap affair, Shane recorded a ninth place outing.
After persistent rain and unfavorable forecast axed Friday night’s program, Shane returned to the half-mile oval on Saturday afternoon for the $15,000-to-win finale. Following the fourth fastest lap in his time trial group, Clanton scored a runner-up finish in his heat behind Kyle Larson, which positioned him eighth on the starting grid for the main event. August 22, 2020 - Thursday night saw Shane Clanton return with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) for the 28th annual Comp Cams Topless 100 weekend. In a stout field of 48 cars, Shane secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature with a second place finish in his heat behind Brandon Overton. For another $5,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday night, Clanton jumped up two spots in his heat race to place second behind Jonathan Davenport. Earning the 11th-starting position for the show, Shane passed two cars in the 30-lapper to come home ninth.
With preliminary results from Thursday and Friday setting the grid for Saturday night’s main event, Shane sat in seventh overall in preliminary points, which positioned him on the fourth row for the Comp Cams Topless 100. With $40,000 on the line, Clanton was forced pitside on lap 63 while running in sixth with a deflating right-rear tire. Rejoining the field from the tail, Shane Clanton salvaged a 17th place outing in the 100-lap affair.

August 15, 2020 - Shane Clanton was one of 53 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand at Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) on Wednesday afternoon for the 34th annual Ralph Latham Memorial. Following the seventh fastest time in his qualifying group, Clanton notched a runner-up finish in his heat, which positioned him seventh on the starting grid for the opening night feature. With $12,000 on the line, Shane challenged leader Jimmy Owens for the lead after a lap-36 restart but came up short to finish second behind Owens with Ricky Weiss, Tim McCreadie, and Hudson O’Neal rounding out the Top-5. The following night for the North/South Shootout, Shane edged his way into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with the third and final transfer spot in his heat race. Rolling off 18th, Clanton marched forward four spots to register a 14th place outing.
With a pair of heat races on Friday afternoon setting the grid for the North/South 100 on Saturday, Clanton jumped up two spots in his first heat to capture the 13-lap victory. After Mother Nature shifted the second round to Saturday afternoon, Shane charged forward four spots to finish fifth.
Sitting in seventh overall in passing points, Clanton locked into the seventh-starting position for the Saturday night’s $50,000-to-win Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100. Dropping two spots in the 100-lap affair, Shane notched a ninth place finish.

August 2, 2020 - Tuesday night found Shane Clanton in action at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series sanctioned contest. In a field of 29 cars, Clanton fell short of a transfer position in his heat with a seventh place outing. Needing a sixth place finish or better to make the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Shane passed three cars to come home ninth, bringing an early end to his evening. (Todd Healy photo)
On Friday night Clanton headed to Kokomo Speedway (Kokomo, Ind.) for the Hoosier Dirt Shootout for the two-day event in place of the Prairie Dirt Classic. Drawing 32 World of Outlaws entries for a pair of qualifying features, Shane laid down the fastest lap overall in time trials, which positioned him on the pole for his 25-lap showdown. With fellow front-row starter Jimmy Owens taking command of the lead on the opening lap, Clanton held on to a runner-up finish behind Owens with Cade Dillard, Jason Feger, and Kyle Bronson completing the Top-5 finishers. With his second-place finish on Friday night locking him into the redraw on Saturday, Clanton pulled the sixth-starting position for the $25,000-to-win Hoosier Dirt Shootout. After rain showers postponed the finale to Sunday afternoon, continued rain overnight forced race officials to postpone the A-Main to a later date.
