1July 28, 2018 - On Tuesday evening Shane Clanton was one of 23 World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series entries signed in at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) for the $10,000 top prize. 1Friday night saw the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series return to action at Fairbury American Legion Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) for the 29th annual Prairie Dirt Classic. Drawing a stout field of 61 Super Late Models for four rounds of preliminary features, Clanton recorded the 13th fastest time in his qualifying group earning him the 7th-starting position for the $2,500-to-win show. Getting caught behind a wreck on the opening lap, Shane was an early retiree from the 25-lapper.

The following night starting near the tail of his B-Main for another shot at the $30,000-to-win finale, Shane retired early from the 15-lap consolation event and elected to use a provisional into the A-Main. Rolling off 23rd, Shane Clanton improved 13 spots in the 100-lap affair reeling in a 10th place finish.

1July 21, 2018 - Thursday night saw Shane Clanton in action at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Malvern Bank Go 50. In a field of 43 Super Late Models, Clanton gained four spots in his heat race reeling in a 3rd place finish. Earning the 9th-starting position for the opening night feature, Shane dropped two spots logging an 11th place outing.

Rolling off 14th for the $53,000-to-win Silver Dollar Nationals A-Main on Saturday evening, Shane slipped back to a 29th place outing in the 100-lap affair.

1July 14, 2018 - Shane Clanton returned with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series on Tuesday night at Black Hills Speedway (Rapid City, South Dakota). After timing in eighth fastest in qualifying, Clanton jumped up one spot in his 10-lap heat to place 3rd. Earning the 6th-starting position for the A-Main, Shane held his spot for all 50-laps registering a 6th place finish.

1On Friday night at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota), Clanton scored a 2nd place finish in his heat positioning him 5th on the starting grid for the feature. The following night at Devil’s Lake Speedway (Lakota, North Dakota), Shane followed up the seventh fastest time in qualifying with a 3rd place finish in his heat. Rolling off 7th, Clanton improved two positions in the 50-lap affair reeling in a 5th place finish behind Chris Madden, Brandon Sheppard, Rick Eckert, and Mike Marlar.

1July 7, 2018 - Following the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, Shane Clanton traveled to Dubuque Speedway (Dubuque, Iowa) on Friday night for the $10,000 top prize. With 28 cars signed in, Shane secured his sot into the opening night feature with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Brian Birkhofer. Falling shy of a Top-5 finish in the feature, Clanton dropped five spots to place 11th.

1On Saturday night at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) for the 39th annual Gopher 50, Clanton laid down the second fastest time overall in qualifying before streaking to a 10-lap heat race victory. Earning the pole position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Shane held the top spot for the first 30 laps until Mike Marlar slipped by for the lead.
