1April 28, 2018 - Friday night brought 26 World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series entries to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) for the two-day Tennessee Tipoff Classic. Following the tenth fastest qualifying time, Shane Clanton bagged a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Chris Madden positioning him 4th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Breaking into a podium spot, Clanton jumped up two positions to place 2nd behind Madden with Devin Moran, Casey Roberts, and Shanon Buckingham completing the Top-5 finishers. (Michael Moats photo)

1The following night for another $10,000-to-win A-Main, Shane secured his spot into the finale with a 5th place finish in his heat race. Starting in 14th, Clanton improved seven spots in the 50-lapper reeling in a 7th place finish.

1April 21, 2018 - Returning with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, Shane Clanton made the trip to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) on Friday night for the Queen City Shootout. With 41 cars registered in for action, Clanton laid down the fifth fastest time in qualifying before placing 2nd in his heat behind Billy Moyer. Rolling off 6th, Shane got rammed into the wall by another competitor on the opening lap forcing him pit-side. Joining the field from the tail, Clanton salvaged a 21st place outing in the 50-lapper.  

1On Saturday evening, Clanton followed up the second fastest time in his qualifying group with a heat race victory. Earning the 4th-starting position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Shane landed a 2nd place finish after challenging Billy Moyer Jr. for the lead in the final corner of the 50-lap affair.
