November 11th, 2017 - Kicking off the 43rd annual National 100, Shane Clanton headed to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Alabama) on Friday night for the unsanctioned weekend. In a field of 36 Super Late Models, Clanton recorded the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group earning him the 7th-starting position for the opening night $5,000-to-win feature. After rough track conditions forced race officials to postpone Friday’s feature to Saturday afternoon, Shane slipped back to a 17th place outing in the 43-lap affair.
Clanton withdrew from Saturday night’s final preliminary feature and the National 100 on Sunday after Mother Nature continued to worsen track conditions.

November 4th, 2017 - Thursday night brought Shane Clanton to the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina) kicking off the Textron Off Road World Finals with two rounds of qualifying. Following the seventh fastest time in his first session, Clanton came in ninth quick in the second round earning him the 3rd-starting position for the heat on Friday.
Sending the Top 3 into the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned feature, Shane landed a runner-up finish behind Mike Marlar positioning him 7th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Coming short of a Top 10 finish, Clanton slipped back to a 12th place outing.
Returning on Saturday, Clanton started the night off with a heat race win earning him the 2nd-starting position for the $12,000-to-win finale. Hanging on to a Top 10 spot, Shane slipped back to a 10th place finish in the 50-lap affair. (Dave Dalesandro photo)
