1September 30th, 2016 - Behind the wheel of the Shop Quik #25 Open Wheel Modified in honor of the late Grant Junghans, Shane Clanton visited Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kansas) on Thursday for the opening night of the Grant Junghans Memorial weekend. Coming from the 6th-starting spot in his heat, Clanton stormed to a heat race win locking him into one of the two $1,500-to-features. Bringing home a Top 5 finish, Shane posted a 4th place finish behind Ricky Thornton Jr., Johnny Scott, and Austin Siebert with Travis Saurer coming in 5th. Earning a spot into the 8-lap Deuces Dash, Clanton scored a 2nd place finish behind Lucas Schott.

The following night for the Grant Junghans Memorial race, Clanton improved nine positions in his heat race landing a 3rd place finish and locking his spot into the main event. With $10,002 on the line, Shane fell back to a 29th place outing in the 42-lap affair.

1September 24th, 2016 - On Friday night Shane Clanton traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) on Friday for the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100. In a field of 62 cars for the two-day unsanctioned weekend, Clanton followed up the fastest time overall with a heat race win securing his spot for the main event Saturday evening. 1September 17th, 2016 - Piloting his Capital Race Cars #25 Super Late Model, Shane Clanton headed to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday for the three-day 13th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores. With 69 cars signed in, Clanton timed in 5th fastest in his group earning him the 6th-starting position for his heat. Improving four spots, Shane landed a runner-up finish behind Billy Moyer securing his spot into the opening night $7,000-to-win A-Main. Holding his position for entire distance of the 25-lapper, Shane Clanton posted a 4th place finish behind Billy Moyer, Brandon Sheppard, and Josh Richards with Jimmy Mars coming in 5th.

On Friday night after taking part in qualifying, Clanton made the decision to park it and prepare for Saturday night's A-Main since he had already locked his spot into the show.

Starting in 9th for the $40,000-to-win A-Main, Shane worked his way into the Top 5 in the 100-lapper notching a 4th place finish behind Mike Marlar, Scott Bloomquist, and Bobby Pierce with Billy Moyer coming in 5th.

1September 10th, 2016 - Competing in the 46th Annual World 100, Shane Clanton made the trek to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday night for the UMP DIRTcar sanctioned weekend. Drawing a stout field of 108 Super Late Models, Clanton followed up the 7th fastest time overall in qualifying with a heat race win giving him the 7th-starting position one of two opening night qualifying features. Working his way into the Top 5, Shane improved two positions posting a 5th place finish behind Matt Miller, Shannon Babb, Dennis Erb Jr., and Billy Moyer.

1On Friday night for another round of qualifying features, Clanton started the night off again with a heat race win putting him 6th on the starting rundown for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. After taking the lead late in the race, Shane fell back to a runner-up finish behind Earl Pearson Jr. after a late-race caution with Darrell Lanigan, Dennis Erb Jr., and Steve Francis rounding out the Top 5 finishers.

1September 4th, 2016 - Running in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Labor Day Weekend, Shane Clanton headed to Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania) on Friday night for the Working Man Weekend. Timing in 6th fastest in his group of 16, Shane earned the 6th starting spot for the opening night 25-lap qualifying feature. Battling for a $2,500 payday, Shane worked his way up to a 4th place finish behind Josh Richards, Mike Norris, and Jimmy Mars with Tyler Erb coming in 5th.

On Saturday night with his position already locked into the $20,000-to-win A-Main, Shane rolled off 6th for the main event. Holding on to a Top 10 outing, Clanton registered a 9th place finish in the 75-lapper.

Closing out the three-day stint, Clanton headed to Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania) on Sunday for the 18th Annual Jeff’s Auto Body and Recycling Center Late Model National Open. Following the 4th fastest time in his group of 21, Shane charged to a heat race win giving him the 3rd-starting spot for the feature. With $8,000 on the line, Shane Clanton fell back to a 12th place outing.
