1September 24th, 2017 - Shane Clanton returned with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway (Lakeside, Kansas) for the $10,000 top prize. With 21 Super Late Models signed in, Clanton timed in fifth fastest in qualifying before placing 2nd in his heat behind Brandon Sheppard. Rolling off 4th for the opening night feature, Shane gained two positions notching a 2nd place finish behind Brandon Sheppard with Devin Moran, Chris Madden, and Brent Larson completing the Top 5 finishers.

1Saturday night brought Shane to Salina Highbanks Speedway (Salina, Oklahoma) for the Bravado Wireless Green County 50. Following the fastest time overall in qualifying, Clanton notched a 3rd place finish in his heat positioning him 7th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Moving up one spot in the 50-lapper, Shane posted a 6th place finish.

1Closing out the World of Outlaws sanctioned weekend, Clanton stopped at 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) on Sunday for the $8,000-to-win A-Main. Jumping up one spot in his heat, Clanton recorded a 3rd place finish earning him the 7th-starting position for the feature. 1September 19th, 2017 - "Shane and Michelle Clanton welcomed their first daughter into the world on Monday. Hailee Marie Clanton tipped the scales at 7 lbs 14.8 ounces. Mom and baby are doing just fine.

September 9th, 2017 - On Thursday night Shane Clanton headed to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 47th annual World 100. Drawing 105 Super Late Models for the UMP DIRTcar sanctioned weekend, Shane secured his spot into the opening night preliminary feature with a 3rd place finish in his heat. Rolling off 15th, Clanton gained six positions in the 25-lapper to place 9th.

1The following night for another $10,000-to-win preliminary feature, Clanton cruised to a 10-lap heat race victory positioning him 4th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Wrapping up the World 100 weekend on Saturday, Shane elected to use a provisional into the $50,000-to-win finale after logging a 7th place finish in his heat race. Starting in 20th, Clanton fell five positons in the 100-lapper logging a 25th place outing.

1September 3rd, 2017 - After Saturday night’s Working Man 50 at Lernerville Speedway (Lernerville, Pennsylvania) was washed away by Mother Nature, Shane Clanton traveled to Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania) on Sunday for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned event. With 27 cars on hand for the 19th annual Late Model National Open, Clanton timed in sixth fastest in qualifying before registering a heat race win. Rolling off 5th for the $8,000-to-win A-Main, Shane suffered a flat-tire on lap 14 that sent him pitside. Rejoining the field from the tail, Shane Clanton worked his way up to a 17th place outing in the remaining 26 circuits.
