May 27th, 2017 - On Friday night Shane Clanton opened the Memorial Day Weekend at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned event. In a field of 33 Super Late Models, Clanton followed up the second fastest time in his qualifying group with a heat race win. Starting in 7th for the feature, Shane had worked his way into the Top 5 until he suffered a flat tire on lap 30. After swapping out the flat and rejoining the field from the tail, Shane Clanton rallied back to a 7th place outing.
Returning with the World of Outlaws on Saturday, Clanton headed to NAPA Wayne County Speedway (Orrville, Ohio) for the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Battling for the top spot in his heat race, Shane made contact with another car on the final lap dropping him back one spot to place 2nd. After receiving help from Frank Heckenast Jr. and his crew in the pits, Shane made it out in time for the feature sporting a bright yellow nose. Sunday's World of Outlaws sanctioned contest at Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, West Virginia) was cancelled due to the weather.

May 14th, 2017 - After Friday’s show got pushed back to Sunday, Shane Clanton made the trip to Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) on Saturday for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned Mountain Outlaw 50. Blistering down the fastest time overall in a field of 25 cars, Clanton went on to place 2nd in his heat behind Jonathan Davenport earning him the 6th-starting spot for the opening night feature. Breaking into a podium spot, Shane jumped up three positions notching a 3rd place finish behind Brandon Overton and Chris Madden with Casey Roberts and Brandon Sheppard rounding out the Top 5.
In a field of 20 Super Late Models on Sunday at Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee), Clanton edged his way into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a 4th place finish in his heat. Starting in 12th, Shane passed four cars in the 50-lapper reeling in an 8th place outing. (Wells Racing Photography)

May 6th, 2017 - Shane Clanton returned to action on Friday night at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, South Carolina) for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned program. Following the third fastest time overall in a field of 31 cars in qualifying, Clanton stormed to a heat race win positioning him on the front row for the feature. Taking the lead on the drop of the green flag, Shane held off a late-race charge from Brandon Sheppard to pick up his fifth win of the season and a $10,000 payday. The following night in a field of 21 World of Outlaws entries at Fayetteville Motor Speedway (Fayetteville, North Carolina), Clanton registered a runner-up finish in his heat behind Brandon Sheppard locking him into the 5th-starting spot for the Tar Heel 50 A-Main. Hanging on to a Top 10 finish, Shane dropped four spots in the 50-lapper to place 9th.
