1August 27th, 2017 - Following the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series to the Wolverine State, Shane Clanton was one 33 Super Late Models signed in at Merritt Speedway (Merritt, Michigan) on Saturday night for the two-day Keyser’s Great Lakes Shootout. After timing in fastest overall in his group, Shane cruised to a heat race win positioning him 3rd on the starting grid for the opening night feature. Waiting until the last lap to make the move for the lead, Clanton pulled ahead of Chris Madden exiting turn two and held him off on the final corner to grab his ninth win of the season and $6,000 payday. 1Returning on Sunday evening for the $15,000 top prize, Shane followed up third quickest lap in time trials with a heat race victory. Rolling off on the pole, Clanton dropped one spot in the 75-lap affair to place 2nd behind Chris Madden with Brandon Sheppard, Rick Eckert, and Devin Moran rounding out the Top 5.

1August 20th, 2017 - On Thursday night Shane Clanton returned with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series for the Fulton Bank 40 at Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Delaware). With 28 entries on hand, Clanton followed up the eighth fastest time in qualifying with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. 1Following a scheduled off-day on Friday night, Clanton headed to Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pennsylvania) on Saturday night for the $10,000 top prize. With the event only offering show-up points, Clanton only completed one lap in both his heat race and B-Main. Starting in 23rd for the A-Main, Shane was an early retiree on lap 10 while being credited with a 22nd place outing.

Closing out three-day eastern swing with the World of Outlaws, Shane was one of 25 cars signed in at Eriez Speedway (Erie, Pennsylvania) on Sunday. Following the fifth fastest time overall in qualifying, Clanton scored a 3rd place finish in his heat race locking him into the 8th-starting position for the feature. With $10,000 on the line, Shane Canton slipped back to a 14th place finish.

1August 7th, 2017 - Making his first start of the season with the Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series, Shane Clanton was one of 18 Super Late Models on hand at Farley Speedway (Farley, Iowa) on Monday night for the $10,000 top prize. After laying down the eight fastest time in qualifying, Clanton secured his spot into the feature with a runner-up finish in his heat race behind Mike Marlar. Bringing home a podium finish, Shane improved four positions in the 50-lap affair to place 2nd behind Spencer Diercks with Rodney Sanders, Chad Simpson, and Justin Kay completing the Top 5 finishers. August 5th, 2017 - Monday night found Shane Clanton at Plymouth Dirt Track (Plymouth, Wisconsin) competing with the DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Tour. Earning the 17th-starting position for the $4,000-to-win A-Main via preliminary events, Clanton improved six positions in the 50-lap affair to place 12th.

1The following night brought Shane to Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway (Oshkosh, Wisconsin) returning with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Models Series. With 36 Super Late Models on hand for the $10,000 top prize, Clanton recorded a 5th place finish in his heat race transferring him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 2 into the show, Shane edged his way with a runner-up finish behind Darrell Lanigan. Rolling off 19th for the feature, Shane Clanton jumped up six spots registering a 13th place outing.

1Wednesday night saw 30 cars signed in at Shawano Speedway (Shawano, Wisconsin) for the World of Outlaws sanctioned Sun Drop Shootout. Leading the night off with a heat race victory, Clanton earned the 5th-starting spot for the feature. 1After losing Thursday’s opener to Mother Nature, Shane was one of 42 Super Late Models registered in at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) on Friday evening for the opening night of the 30th annual USA Nationals. Moving up one spot in his heat race, Clanton captured a 10-lap heat race win positioning him 3rd on the starting grid for the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature.
