1August 28th, 2016 - Powering his Weldbank Energy #25 Super Late Model, Shane Clanton traveled to Merritt Speedway (Lake City, Michigan) on Friday night for the two-day Keyser’s Great Lakes Shootout. Drawing 40 Super Late Models for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model sanctioned program, Clanton started the night off with a heat race win earning him the 8th-starting position for the feature. Working his way into the Top 5, Shane improved three positions posting a 5th place finish behind Eric Spangler, Nick Kurtz, Josh Richards, and Brandon Overton.

After the weather postponed Saturday night’s event, Shane returned to action on Sunday night for the $10,000 top prize. Registering a runner-up finish in his heat behind Rich Neiser, Clanton rolled off 7th for the main event. Bringing home another Top 5 finish, Shane gained two positions in the 50-lapper posting another 5th place finish behind Josh Richards, Brandon Overton, Rich Neiser, and Rick Eckert.

1August 14th, 2016 - Following the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series to the east-coast, Shane Clanton was one of 37 Super Late Models signed in at Delaware International Raceway (Delmar, Delaware) on Thursday night for the Fulton Bank 50. After timing in sixth quick in his group, Clanton registered a 3rd place finish in his heat earning him the 10th-starting spot for the feature event. With 50-laps to gain some ground, Shane Clanton improved seven spots landing a podium finish behind Josh Richards and Brandon Overton with Amanda Whaley and Jason Covert rounding out the Top 5.

The following night Shane headed to Potomac Speedway (Budds Creek, Maryland) for the Gunter’s Honey 50. In a field of 39 cars, Clanton posted a runner-up finish in his heat behind Josh Richards putting him 6th on the starting rundown for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Moving up three positions, Shane Clanton notched a 3rd place finish behind Josh Richards and Jason Covert with Brandon Overton with Rick Eckert completing the Top 5 finishers.

The next stop for the WoO series was at Winchester Speedway for another $10,000-to-win A-Main. After timing in 5th fastest in his group of 17, Shane stormed to a heat race win giving him the pole position for the main event. Hanging on to a Top 5 spot, Clanton recorded a 3rd place finish behind Billy Moyer Jr. and Jason Covert with Josh Richards and Dale Hollidge trailing them across the finish line.

1On Sunday night Shane stopped at Eriez Speedway (Erie, Pennsylvania) for the final night of four with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series. Drawing a field of 31 Super Late Models, Clanton posted another heat race victory earning him the 4th-starting spot for the $10,000-to-win feature. 1August 6th, 2016 - Making the trip north, Shane Clanton followed the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series to Shawano Speedway (Shawano, Wisconsin) on Tuesday night for the Sundrop Shootout. After timing in sixth fastest in a field of 28, Clanton cruised to a heat race victory giving him the 2nd-starting position for the feature alongside Jimmy Mars. Following a slip-up on lap 20 that give the lead to Josh Richards, Shane regained the top spot on the next lap going on to win his ninth victory of the season over Richards, Earl Pearson Jr., Brandon Overton, and Rick Eckert. 1On Thursday Clanton picked back up with the World of Outlaws traveling to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisconsin) for the three-day USA Nationals. Transferring the top three out of the heats, Shane recorded a 4th place outing transferring him into the B-Main. Storming to a 12-lap consolation win, Clanton earned the 21st-starting position for the opening night A-Main. After getting caught behind a wreck on lap 19, Shane Clanton worked his way up to a 13th place outing in the 30-lap main event.

1The following night Clanton followed up the 3rd fastest time in his qualifying group with a heat race victory locking him into the 6-lap Pole Dash. Drawing the pole position, Shane led every lap earning him the pole for the 100-lap USA Nationals A-Main.
